ABOUT     |     photography    |    PRINTS

In the process of bringing salt notes to life in physical form, I began experimenting with risograph test prints.

I selected two photographs to be printed side by side on white recycled A3 paper, and limited myself to two riso colours - black and blue. The aim was not to produce prints that depict every original colour, but rather to test alternative printing methods and allow for a different visual interpretation of the wider salt notes project.

The absence of original colours in these riso prints offers an unexpected, intimate glimpse into the salt notes project. The prints effectively retain the scenes’ ephemeral atmosphere by doing away with a life-like rendition. Restraints and transpositions in colour have extracted the essence from originals in ways unforeseen.

The unintended imperfections in the prints, such as subtle specks of yellow, lend themselves to a more incidental, human experience of the work.

The risograph prints are available for purchase.

First editions of photobooks are still in the oven - more updates to follow.
